EASTER SUNDAY: The Resurrection of Our Lord

Easter is a high mystery, perhaps the highest mystery of all. The basic question is: How can someone dead live again? The news of the Resurrection only brought a shaking head to many, if not all. Yes! Easter brought a disbelieving shake of the head from those who heard it. But in FAITH we accept the Easter event. It’s hard to believe, but Jesus indeed has risen from the dead, for that is what God the Father has promised - He can work out the impossibility: first was the Incarnation, now in the Resurrection. God in Jesus assures that Easter is possible. Someone says it well: A place of decay can become a nursery for life. It is possible because of Resurrection, because of Easter joy. Jesus broke free from the linen bands that held him, from the dark, filthy tomb that encased him, from the heavy rock that block the niche. Jesus rose from the dead to offer something else to the world - not death, but freedom and life eternal,  life without end, life to the full.

We cannot escape this earth but we can, with the Risen Christ, transform our lives on earth. Easter answers our questions about the darkest fears of death and destruction. Easter tells us that life need not end in the dark tomb.

Thank you so much for making our Lenten journey most meaningful and memorable, at least for me, being my first year with your as your Parish Priest. Thank you too for making our Easter journey most beautiful too! Being new here I was grappling where to start, what to do, who to seek help, but with your kind heart and willingness to assist and make ends meet, we did well. I bow my heads to all of you who made things happened!
Thank you MUCHO! Our SITH nuns ingenuity and presence helped us achieved heaps. The members of our Parish Choirs have made a big difference. The Liturgy Committee and the designated “doers” also made things easier and encouraging for us. To all others who contributed to our beautiful journey may the Risen Lord bless you and protect you.
